Luke's Story...
"Hi, friends! My name is LUKE, and I'm a big fellow with a heart of gold. I'm a charming Coonhound/ pit bull mix, and I'm about three years old. I'm a smart, friendly, obedient guy who loves attention. You can see when you meet me that I'm strong and muscular, and I'll need daily exercise. I require a good-sized yard in my new home, and I'll also want a soft doggie bed in the house so that I can part of the family. I don't want to be relegated to the back yard, as I'm looking for a loving, faithful friend who wants to spend time with me. I'd do best in a family where the kids are older and bigger, and I get along well with other dogs. I've already been house trained, and I know how to sit on command. I aim to please! Won't you please come visit me and give me a chance? I'm waiting for you here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter. They've got a nice play yard here where we can spend time getting to know each other. I hope to see you very soon. Love, Luke"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Luke, a El Cajon Coonhound/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Coonhound/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Coonhound/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Coonhound/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Coonhound/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
