Rumble is a 2-3 year old typical chihuahua with attitude and spunk. He arrived at FOA as a stray, so we don't know anything about his past, but he was adopted and recently brought back due to his owner not having the time for him. We do know that he needs A LOT of time to warm up to new people and he also picks and chooses who he likes at times. Once he does warm up to you he will be your best friend for life. He sits and knows how to take treats very nicely. He is not one for being held unless it's on his terms. We don't think he was ever leash trained so he gets very nippy whenever you try to put a leash on him. He just needs someone that is patient and willing to work with him and show him that he isn't the boss. His favorite toys are pretty much any cat toy especially the balls that have bells in them. He gets along well with other dogs his size (not sure about big dogs) and cats. He LOVES cats. He is very vocal which comes with his breed and will let you know when someone is at the door. If you are willing to work with this handsome boy and give him the best forever home then please consider him for adoption even if it means having to spend time with him a few times before deciding to adopt him.

Rumble's adoption fee is $175 + tax and includes micro-chipping!

All adoption's are subject to approval.

All animals are current on their vaccination based on their age and time at the shelter. Some animals may require boosters. Please note: MN state law requires rabies vaccinations be given by a licensed veterinary. Because FOA does not have a full time vet on staff, some animals may not have had their rabies shots.

About Friends of Animals Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

Our goal as a shelter is to reduce the number of stray pets on our streets and make sure they have somewhere safe and warm to stay until they find their forever homes. We highly encourage micro-chipping and spaying and neutering which also helps the high stray population to be reduced. Friends of Animals Humane Society is dedicated to providing care and treatment to dogs and cats located in various portions of Carlton County. We strive daily to not
only help them in a time of need, but to improve their lives by finding them their forever homes. Every animal deserves a second chance to live a happy and healthy life. The purpose of this organization is to create a humane and sustainable community for all animals, through education, advocacy and the promotion of respect and compassion.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are open from noon until 7pm on Mondays, noon until 5 Tuesdays through Thursdays and from noon until 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Fridays we are by appointment only. Feel free to come and meet all of our pets that are waiting for forever homes! Also check out our website at for adoption events and lots of other fun things !

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process starts with filling out an adoption application specific to a dog or cat. There is a 24 hour turn around on the approval process. Once approved, a contract must be read and signed, along with health alerts. Anybody wishing to adopt from Friends of Animals must be 21 years of age to do so. Our current adoption fees for our cats are $90 for kittens (under 1 year old), and $60 for adult cats. There are usually a few longer term or older cats whose fee is $30. The current fees for our dogs vary. They range from $250 and up, dependent on several factors such as age, type, size, etc. All cats leaving the shelter must be in a pet carrier. And all dogs leaving the shelter must be on a leash.
