Finlay is a very handsome 3 year old black lab mix. He weighs about 70 lbs. Poor Finlay had a pretty rough start to his life before he came to Lucky Lab Rescue. He had to be trapped by a rural animal control because he was just so afraid of people. Lucky Lab Rescue pulled this scared boy and immediately put him in a foster home where he could get lots of love and nurturing. Finlay has come a LONG way from his initial entry into his foster home. He now comes right up to people, requesting attention and wagging his tail and he doesn't turn down any possibility of getting loved on. He walks with his head held high, tail up and wagging, and a smile on his face. His gorgeous shiny soft coat and beautiful build are the first things you notice about him. He also has a unique gait. Finlay enjoys playing with other dogs and likes to be right in the middle of the action. He also has decided toys are pretty great. One of the funny things he does is claim all of the toys he wants by taking them to his kennel. Finlay is a smart boy and learns quickly. He now knows the command - night night, kennel up, outside, potty, no, come, back, off, sit and is now working on lie down. Finlay would be a good fit for a family with older children, the single person looking for a companion, or empty nesters. He would need someone dedicated to reinforcing his confidence and love of people. Finlay has been neutered, is heartworm negative and up to date on all vaccinations. He has been kept on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative and he is house trained.
