Max's Story...
Foster or foster to adopt home wanted! This is Max! Max is a 1 year old lab/German Shepard mix. He was left at a high kill shelter when his owner passed away and ended up on the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter. We rescued him just in time. Max has an amazing temperament/ personality, he is potty trained, crate trained, and knows some commands. Max gets along great with all dogs and he loves cats as well. He is extremely gentle with the foster's Corgi puppy! Max is playful and loves to run, but he also loves to nap and he surprisingly makes a wonderful apartment dog! He is a gentle giant and is not aggressive in any way. Max would make the perfect addition to any family and is hoping to have a permanent home soon. Max does have some separation anxiety issues, but CARES has experience with these types of conditions and can make suggestions to make the transition easier. Max will likely need to be on medication for his separation anxiety (about $20/month) at least until he transitions completely to a new home. He does very well at doggy daycare, which is another option for making him comfortable while you are working. He really is the perfect dog who just has developed anxiety after his owner's passing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Mandeville German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever for sale in Mandeville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Mandeville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mandeville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mandeville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mandeville paves the way for another one to be saved.
