Oscar's Story...

This dog's fosterhome is located in: ****Cape Girardeau**** Meet Oscar!  Oscar was found out in the country, hanging out among a group of trashcans and looking for food.  In fact, that’s how he got his name, from a character on Sesame Street.  He has a docked tail and his ears haven’t decided for sure which way to go, he is in the “ear wars” stage of puppyhood.  He weighs about 4 pounds only 3 months old, and now that he doesn’t have to worry about being safe and having enough to eat, he is a typical puppy that enjoys life.  He is playful and loves to romp and chew on this toys.  He is a smart boy too, and has learned how to go in and out of the dog door on his own, which is reducing the number of puppy accidents he is having in his foster home during his house training.  Oscar gets along great with all of his foster brothers and sisters, even the big ones!  He sleeps all night in his crate without a peep, and is a joy to his foster dad.  For more photos of this adorable pup in his foster home, click here:  http://ImageEvent.com/ratterrierresq/oscar

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Festus Rat Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Festus, or seeking a Rat Terrier puppy from a breeder in Festus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Festus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Festus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Festus paves the way for another one to be saved.
