My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Diva is an affectionate, goofy girl! She has a terrific sense of humor, and as you can see from her sparkling eyes, her heart is bursting with joy! She wants SO much to please! She loves to play with toys, but she loves cuddling just as much, and she gives the slurpiest kisses ever! She gets along very well with other dogs.

Diva is a retired show dog! She won many 1st place ribbons in her show career, and has earned points towards her AKC championship.

Unfortunately, fame, fortune and a fancy pedigree weren't enough to keep Diva safe and loved. She was found wandering mean city streets and taken to a high-volume animal shelter. No one came to look for her, but the shelter found her microchip and notified her owner in another state that she was there. The staff was certain that her owner would send someone to get her! But poor Diva waited in the shelter for an entire month, and no one ever came! She became the property of the shelter....

Diva passed her behavior evaluation with flying colors! The shelter staff soon became very fond of her. They felt terrible that they couldn't put her up for adoption because she needed dental work to remove some painfully broken teeth. They put her on the "Needs Rescue" list, hoping that a rescue group would be willing to take care of her. But the bully breed rescue groups are overwhelmed with thousands of bully dogs who need rescuing, and they didn't have room for Diva.

After a month in the scary shelter, waiting for someone to save her, this soft, sensitive girl's heart was breaking... Shelter workers paid her extra attention, trying to cheer her up, but she became more and more depressed. The shelter couldn't keep her much longer. We rescued her just in the nick of time!

We know that Diva is fur-challenged compared to our Keeshond dogs! But her sweet, good-natured
soul touched our volunteer's heart! She couldn't bear to see this wonderful girl's life end in the scary shelter -- Diva didn't deserve that! We cried out to our supporters for help, and a reputable Keeshond show breeder (who stands behind the dogs she breeds) stepped forward and helped us find Diva a foster home.

We've had Diva spayed and her dental work done. She's current on vaccines, tested for heartworms, and is ready for someone to give her the love and happy life she deserves. Diva will reward her new person with bountiful love, laughter and lifelong loyalty. Do you have room in your heart and home for this special, sweet princess?
