WATSON's Story...
Meet Watson. Watson is a handsome 1 ½ year old male BC mix. Our best guess is that he is mixed with Flat Coated Retriever.

Watson is very sweet natured, and gets along with other dogs, people, bicyclists or skateboarders. (He does like the squirrels.) He is a bit shy when first meeting him, but instantly warms up to you. Is leash trained and knows his basic obedience commands such as "sit, down, off, and leave it", but needs continued training on "come" and "stay". Will ride in a crate in a car and sleep in a crate at night. Watson likes to play fetch with his ball, and tug of war with his rope. When playing tug, he's very good with the commands of "drop it" and "easy" when giving him the rope. Has appropriate energy for his age and would make a really nice hiking or running partner.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html

Why Adoption is a Great Option

WATSON, a San Pedro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
