Java's Story...
**Java is currently being fostered in Houston and is available for out-of-state adoption to an amazing family. Her adoption fee is $500, which covers her transport home and she is fully vetted.**

A few weeks ago, one of our board members got a call from their husband who was out on a coffee run. While out, this cute little dog ran up under his car and would not come out. Afraid she would run out into traffic if he tried to get her out, he kicked open the door and she jumped inside! She was in good health, so we thought she surely just got away from her family. After looking for her family for a couple of weeks, we decided it was totally their loss and moved on with her vetting so she could find herself an amazing forever family.

Java is approximately a one year old dachshund/min pin mix. She is 18 pounds of the sweetest, happiest, most playful and loving little lady one could ask for.She is full grown at this stage and should not get any bigger. Java has been socialized with dogs of all sizes and does fine with cats. Java would also be a great playmate for children. Java's ideal family is one that will provide her plenty of exercise, she is an active girl, and who either has another dog or would take her places where she could play with other dogs and remain well socialized. Java is a smart pup and would do great with a family that will provide her appropriate mental stimulation as well. Java would be amazing in a training class!

Java has been fully vetted (vaccinations, spay, and microchipped) and she is heartworm negative. Java is house and kennel trained. She can be a little mischievous when left to her own devices, so we would suggest she be kenneled when her family is not home. Java loves a good chew toy and is fine for a few hours in her kennel at a time.

The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application, which can be found on our website www.reggiesfriends.org. If you hover over the "adoptables" tab, the application link will appear. If you have any questions about our adoption process or about Java, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Java, a Seattle Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Seattle, or seeking a Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Seattle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Seattle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Seattle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Seattle paves the way for another one to be saved.
