Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Reggie came to our rescue from a lady in WPB that fostered him about nine months ago. It is our understanding that Reggie was used as a stud for breeding purposes. His owner died leaving three siblings, George, Reggie and another girl. The deceased ladies’ daughter did not want any of them so a good samaritan took them in and found fosters for all three. I further understand that Reggie was kept in a cage his entire life with only newspaper lining the cage. It was obvious when Reggie came to this lady that took him in he had no idea what a bed was nor what a toy was and had had no people interaction. It took her three weeks to get Reggie to trust her. With patience and love, today Reggie is the sweetest boy. He craves love and attention, but is slow in trusting.
From foster's experience, he does not like men too much. Ideally, the potential adopter would be a female with no intentions of having a man in her life, or perhaps an older person, or getting professional training. The potential adopter should also understand and be patient knowing that in time Reggie is very capable of loving. Reggie is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, and after having undergone heartworm treatment, is free of heartworm, very healthy, eats very well and plays like a three year old should. He gets along terrifically with other dogs. Foster has never had him around children. I must add that his looks are stunning. Having always been around Chihuahuas and is doing great he just needs to lose a couple of pounds!
