Maggie's Story...
Please call the shelter to make an appointment if you would like to meet Maggie. 801-444-2200.
5 years old
Maggie was signed over to our shelter when her previous owner could no longer care for her. Her previous owner did let us know that she does well with other dogs, is mostly housebroken but has a hard time in the winter and needs to be in a home without small children. Maggie is a little stressed out about this whole shelter situation so she can be a little nervous when you first meet her. Once she has relaxed Maggie is a sweet as can be girl who loves attention and cuddling. She would be the perfect fit with a mellow home with lots of comfy places to curl up and relax. If you’re looking for a cute cuddle bug to add to the family then come and take a look at Maggie.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Fruit Heights Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Fruit Heights, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Fruit Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fruit Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fruit Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fruit Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
