Meet Diamond!
This Queen of the castle will impress you as soon as you lay eyes on her she is so very special in so many ways and will bring your family joy and a lifetime of happiness.
She’s very social and loves her daily walks. She adores everybody she meets including children.
Diamond is dog selective with male dogs and does not get along with female dogs, being that she was raised with her 6 siblings. She does not get along with cats. She is so eager to please, disciplined and is very energetic. She had the misfortune of becoming a victim of being stolen but after intense searching I was very lucky to have found her in a kill shelter after 3 months where she was on the list to be euthanized and at the time pregnant so the criminals that stole her had only one thing on their mind and that was to breed. Well since then Diamond returned to her loving family and home and is now in need of an equally loving family and home. Diamond is 4 years old and a pure breed Pitbull, she is housebroken and is crate trained but would prefer not being in the crate unless absolutely necessary. Diamond is microchipped and up to date with all her shots, she is also currently licensed and Spayed. She has so much more love to give and will be the perfect addition to any family! If you are interested in meeting Diamond, please contact me directly.

About For Our Friends

About Our Rescue Group...

For Our Friends, Inc. is a nonprofit, no kill, rescue group based in Queens, NY. FOF keeps all dogs until a loving home is found for them. We are devoted to saving dogs/puppies in need. Many of our dogs have been abandoned and have literally been found by our volunteers in the streets of Queens and the Bronx. We have also rescued dogs due to be "put down" from the Center for Animal Care and Control (CACC). All of our dogs are given full medical exams including all of the necessary innoculations. All dogs are tested for heartworm. Any treatment for illness or injury is provided. In addition, all dogs over 4 months are spayed/neutered prior to being made available for adoption.

Our group has NO shelter of its own. All dogs are boarded at a veterinary hospital that has kennel facilities. We pay $14/day to board each animal that we have, as well as the fees for the medical care. We are supported solely through the tax-deductible donations that we receive. 100% of all donations go to the costs incurred in the medical care and boarding of our dogs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not have a shelter of our own. We do a combination of foster homes and boarding and adoption events. Since we are an all volunteer group we show by appointment. Please contact 516.616.3076 or email to make an appointment to meet our dogs. All our dogs can be viewed at

Our Adoption Process...

1. The first step in our adoption process is a telephone interview. A volunteer will call you to determine what type of dog will best fit your life style. Once an interest in one of our dogs is established we will ask for references. A veterinary reference is preferred.
2. The volunteer will make an appointment with the potential adopter based on a satisfactory reference to show the dogs. All family members must be present at this meeting. This includes the family’s current dog. Appointments can be made weekdays until 7 PM and weekends until 3PM.
3. If the potential adopter is a first time dog owner, we will, again, meet all family members and discuss at length housebreaking and training procedures. We will provide follow up phone calls and answer any questions the family may have.
4. Finally if the adopter/dog match is mutually agreeable, the new owner will sign an adoption agreement. The adoption agreement basically states that the dog/puppy will be treated in a humane way – given food, shelter and veterinary care. The pet will wear all necessary identification tags at all times AND if the relationship between dog and owner does not work out for ANY reason, For Our Friends will be notified. No For Our Friends Pet will ever be put in another shelter or transferred to any other owner without the approval of For Our Friends. We follow up all adoptions with phone calls to be sure all is going well and to answer any questions the adopter may have.
5. For Our Friends must ask a donation at the time of adoption. The fee is $200 for a dog that is spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and up to date on his shots. All adoption fees are refundable for up to 30 days if the pet is returned to us within that period. All fees are tax deductible.
