My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Donut is about 6 yrs old and has never met a person she doesn't like.  She is a pretty tan with a silvery sheen which is hard to describe and has beautiful eyes.  It is difficult to get a picture that shows her true beauty cuz she is too busy to stay still for something as silly as a picture.  Her ears are folded down or stand straight up depending on her thought process at the time.  She has a lot of energy and would be a great playmate for kids.  She does pretty well on a leash and her foster is working on command training.  She is territorial with her treats so best to serve hers in her crate.  She would probably do better with a male dog as a playmate versus a female. There is a cat in the household that she comingles with as a safety precaution, is never left alone in the house with it. If she sounds like a dog that would fit in your family, email us for a pre adoption questionnaire.  If your home looks like a good match for her we can schedule a meet and greet with you.  Because we do home visits for all our adoptions, she is available in the immediate DFW area only.  Her adoption fee is $150

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

***Adopting a New Friend:Our adoption process consists of filling out a pre-adoption questionnaire, which is then reviewed by an ARNT representative. If adopter is approved, a home visit will be scheduled at a convenient time for the potential adopter. If the home is approved, the adoption contract will be signed and the adoption fee paid. The dog then becomes the adoptive pet of the adopter. We do not ship dogs. Our adoption fee runs between $100 or $350 depending on the type of dog. This fluctuation is to compensate for cost of the vet work that goes into some animals. We may have a puppy that gets adopted for $100.00 that we have spent $300.00 in vet care. The higher fee on the more desirable dogs help cover this expense. We don't make a profit by getting a higher adoption fee on some dogs, as some people would think. We always have very high vet bills at numerous vets in the area.
***Adoption Fee Includes:
*Vet records
*Age appropriate shots
*Heart Worm Tests
*Heartworm preventive up to date(if dog is heartworm positive, they will be treated)
*Spaying/Neutering
*Any other vet care needed while in our care
*Any training given while in our care

***Our Policy. Each of our dogs is adopted as an indoor family pet, not as a outdoor watchdog, a breeding dog, or a fighting dog. Each adopted animal must be spayed/neutered, even full breed or pedigreed animals. This is not an optional procedure, and it is mandated by city ordinances. The full adoption process is required for each applicant. Adopters are expected to keep their new pet current on all vaccinations, heartworm prevention, & other vet care as needed. Home visits are to insure there is proper shelter and provisions for the pet; that there is a secure fence around the property and to introduce the new pet to existing pets in the home, if any, in order to test their compatibility. The adopted animal is usually delivered to the new family at the time the home visit is performed.

***In some cases, we will take pets back if they are no longer able to stay in your home. Depending on the space and availability of foster home.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a shelter facility. Each of us foster dogs in our homes. Adoptions can be done during the week at the foster family's convenience. We hold adoptions on Saturday or Sunday (12-5) at the Petco in Mansfield off Fm157 (South Cooper) and Hwy 287

More about this rescue

Angel's Rescue was founded by Betty Wiley in 2000, however her plight began years earlier when she became concerned at the number of dogs being abandoned at a local lake. She at first began taking food and water out to them each day and eventually she was able to pick some of them up, take them to the vet for the appropriate health care, then find loving homes for them. Most of our dogs are either rescued from the lake, strays or from local animal shelters.

Angel’s Rescue is a small non-profit 501(c)3 group comprised of volunteers who dedicate themselves to rescuing dogs. We are a “no–kill” rescue group, operating solely on donations. We do not receive any type of government or institutional funding.
