Maizie's Story...
This sweet little princess is named Maizie. She is around 8 years old. She is very sweet and friendly. Maizie came from a local shelter and was a stray. She has eye, ear and skin infections which are all currently being treated. She was so matted, that the vet techs had to shave her down to the skin in some areas. She is up to date on her medical and is micro chipped.

She can be a little hand shy around her head, but once she knows you are friendly, she is the sweetest and most affectionate girl. She is an easy dog and gets along with other dogs, as long as they respect her space. She is not interested in playing with other dogs. She is very laid back, loves to take naps on comfy beds, and enjoys exploring the yard. Maizie is a great couch potato that loves watching movies with us.

If you would like to be considered in adopting Maizie please complete our on line adoption application. We require a home visit and vet reference. Her adoption fee is $200. She is being fostered in Suffolk Va. We do not provide or put our Pekes on transports to their new homes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maizie, a Virginia Beach Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
