Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello wonderful Future Forever Homes! Please let me introduce myself; My Name is Figaro- also known as Fig or Figgy, which just has a fun little ring to it don't you think?
I am a gentleman at heart, with wisdom to share as you look into my beautiful brown eyes and graying face. At 13, I have experienced much in this world, and it has all been coated in love from the very beginning. I have spent my entire life in the same home with lots of love, attention, and all the care I could ever need.
So you are wondering how a wonderful guy with such a perfect life ended up in Rescue, right? Well- my person passed on. But please don't feel sorry for me; I was sad at first, but I am being loved well by the great people here in Rescue and they tell me that they are going to find me a wonderful family soon. Actually, if it doesn't seem forward of me, I would like to put in a request for a DAD. I don't want to sound picky or anything, but I just have a special connection with men.
So you are wondering about my over-all health? I got a pretty good check up when I arrived to Rescue but I was very thin and my coat was pretty brittle. My lab work showed that I have a low thyroid level, not terribly uncommon in iggies of a certain age, so on an inexpensive supplement I went. My weight is greatly improving on a sensitive stomach dog food and I am feeling a little bounce in my step now that I am getting a joint supplement to help the joints move a little more efficiently.
I am really looking forward to having my very own person to snuggle with again. I get along just fine with other low energy dogs and cats, but I would be perfectly okay as an only dog in my new home. Please let me know if you would like to consider me as your new best friend. I will be waiting!
