My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FAITH is a 2 year old spayed fox red female Lab who weighs 43 pounds. She came to us from an "owner" in a rural area who kept her in a 10x10 pen 24/7 and fed her from a pig trough. She is so happy to be with LR and warm, safe and loved! She is a bit timid and is startled easily by loud noises and chaos scares her. She is good on leash and is keeping her room clean at the vet. She is very kissy and lovey and would love to be a lap dog. She is a good rider. She is good with other dogs. She is approved for kids 10+.

Update: Good Sunday to you all! Today marks the start of my 2nd week in my foster home. I've made alot of improvements in facing my fears and I'm starting to relax. I get excited about feeding time now and actually will get with the group who anxiously awaits while the food is being prepared. I still pace some still but now I come up to the table for peanut butter (pills) and take them like a champ. They, my foster parents, used to have to reach way in the back of the crate and then I sheepishly took them. I've gotten real comfortable with Foster Mom so my tail is up and wagging alot now or I'm cuddled up to her on the sofa. Yesterday morning all 5 of us dogs were in bed with FM. This was the first time I actually jumped up on the bed by myself and settled in. Isn't that the greatest? I'm still a little cautious around Foster Dad but that is improving. You know he works alot so I don't get to interact with him as much. I don't know how to play with toys yet but I'm hoping soon I will figure it out. Foster Mom keeps trying.
Don't forget I'm a 2 yr old fox red girl looking for my forever family that has a confident, secure dog that would love to have a sister. Call your AC to come visit me in Lynchburg.

Update: Faith's Fairytale: (Foster Friday)
Howdy y'all! I'm Faith and I'm 2 years old. I'm looking for my forever family but I need another dog to be my buddy. I'm starting to really do well here at my foster home. When Foster Mom calls, I pretty much come inside now and only hesitate a little at the threshold. I don't know why but that door opening is scary. I do love when Foster Mom gets all excited and loves on me when I do come in. I cuddle up to her and just wag my tail. Oh, my tail is doing much better and is almost healed. Do you know what that means? Yes, I've been able to go out with the gang (Suzie, Reese, Belle and Jackson) and play. I'm still kind of learning what that is but running is great!
I do get along with all the dogs here. I'm house trained, crate trained and I'm really starting to like attention. I can now eat with my crate door open and not be scared. I still don't like the construction noises (compressors, nail guns, etc) but I'm getting used to them more and more each day.
So, call your AC to come visit me in Lynchburg to make me your girl!

Update; This is Faith saying Hi to everyone out in LR FB land. I'm enjoying the warm sun with the gang and especially like being around Suzie. I'm not really impressed with all the construction sounds going on behind us so I decided to hang out with foster Mom and Suzie after I did my necessities. I've discovered that I like yogurt on my food. All of us dogs get yogurt mixed in because it's good for our systems. At first I looked at my foster parents like they were nuts but then I took a taste of it. Oh my word, it was delicious! I'm still looking for my wonderful forever family. I'm 2 years old and probably once I gain my weight will be around 50 pounds. As you can tell I'm fox red in color and have the cutest pink nose. I'm approved for kids 10 and up but I'm unknown with cats. I'm housetrained ans crate trained. I need a place that isn't so loud because those loud noises scare me. I need a family that is understanding and loving and they already have a confident dog that will help me learn. If you are a match for me, call your AC to come visit me in Lynchburg.

Update : Faith is a beautiful, sweet, healthy and adorable 2 year old fox red girl who weighs around 43 pounds. She needs to put on a few pounds to fill in her ribs some but her fosters are going to help her with that. Even with 2 years of minimal human contact, Faith is learning to accept human attention. What's amazing is that once she works through her initial apprehension, she actually seems to enjoy the contact and has laid rather relaxed next to her foster Mom for awhile this morning. Of course Foster Mom is a big cuddler and enjoyed loving on Faith too!
Faith has been in her foster home for almost a day now. She has shown that she is crate trained, not a huge puller on the leash, a great car rider, a good eater, sleeps well throughout the night in her crate and appears to be housebroken (no accidents). She scratched at the door to go out this morning alerting her Foster Dad of her desire to go outside. Faith must go home with another dog because she needs that confident dog to show her the ropes. The introductions to her foster canine siblings went extremely well yesterday and today it was good to see Faith put Jackson in his place when he overstepped his boundary. Right now Faith is unable to romp and play with her foster siblings because her tail is still healing from her bout of "happy tail". She is on medication to help it heal and is currently in an e-collar when unattended.

Update : Faith ended up at the vet with "happy tail" recently and we found that she is actually good without her mom as long as there is another dog to give her confidence. She is now in a foster separate from Hope and can be adopted on her own as long as she has a buddy. More from her foster very soon!
