Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Handsome Denver is a -8 year old GSD who is as sweet and smart as the day is long! He was turned over to a high kill shelter because his owners claimed he was dog aggressive...he is NOT. He gets along fine with all sizes of dogs and has been a great play pal to one of his puppy roommates. He cannot go to a home with cats...NO cats. He has good house manners, rides well in the car and is not high energy. He'd be a great walking companion or a couch cuddling pooch. He's a wonderfully handsome, gentle, calm young man who needs an experienced dog owner to teach him all he needs to know to live up to his full potential. Again, no cats or small animals(rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, etc.) He would love a home with someone who is home most of the time, enjoys playing and wants a companion who will play with him, train him and give him lots of attention. A large, laid back but playful dog companion would be great.
Denver recently went to the vet because he was slow to get up and he was found to have dysplasia in his right hip. He needs exercise and loves it but nothing too strenuous like long hikes or runs. He is on meds(Rimadyl and Tramadol) to help him be comfortable and that will have to continue(my older dog is on these meds as well...not unusual for larger, older dogs). Otherwise he is a very healthy boy!
FENCED YARD REQUIRED.
Denver's adoption donation is $200. Love A Mutt is a 501c3 public charity and all monies go to help other dogs in need. Denver is fully vetted and microchipped.
Thank you for choosing to rescue! We appreciate you.
