My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya there! My name is Addison! It is super nice to meet you. I’m an adoptable, 8 year old female dachshund gal, with a happy soul and a sense of humor. I love to hop around from my bak toes to my front ones (kind of like the weenie from the drive in movie intermission cartoon, if you remember that sort of thing, hee hee). Not long ago, I came to NBS Animal Rescue VERY underweight. Life was pretty scary there for a minute, I had broken teeth and dermatitis pretty bad. Sudden movements still make me a little nervous, so kids 8-10yrs+ would be ideal. I’ve gotten much more trusting of new people, considering all the folks that volunteer for NBS like to spoil me. So naturally, they got me used to knowing what a full belly feels like, and I also really enjoy treats. Crate & potty training have been going really well for me, and I definitely don’t mind other dogs. Although, I do like to bark at squirrels, and will “announce” when someone new comes in the house. Once I make a friend, I like to flirt and bounce around them – sneaking in a kiss or two when I can.

Do I sound like the gal for you?

1.) Visit www.NBSAnimalRescue.com happy to adopt me. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you, and whatever other pets you have in the home to make sure we all get along. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to do the next steps too. : )

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release info about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.

3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your vet). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
