Captain's Story...

Captain is approx 12 weeks old and about 15 pounds of adorable mixed breed puppiness! He and siblings were found in a box while they were still too young to be away from mom. Their finder found homes for the siblings, but the little runt needed some extra care and he came to HSUC to be fostered and cared for. He has done great growing and getting strong and is ready for his forever home. He is doing well with crate training and is improving everyday with house training. His adoption fee will cover his vaccines, his neuter and a microchip. We don't know his breed or how big he'll get, but he looks like he has boxer in the mix and will be a good 50ish pounds as an adult (just an educated guess though!) To apply for this fellow, fill out our online application at www.hs-uc.org.
Captain, Boxer Mix has been shared from Shelter Exchange.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Captain, a Monroe Boxer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Boxer puppy from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
