Earl's Story...
Hi, my name is Earl (named for the man who found me) and I am a 9 month old (as of mid December 2015) male Catahoula Leopard Mix dog. You can see in my pictures that I have the typical spotted fur of a Catahoula.

I recently arrived at the shelter after having been found abandoned. I am getting to know everybody here and have made friends with both the volunteers (who love me) and the other dogs. I'm currently in a pen with a female Beagle mix and we are having a ball running and playing with each other.

I am looking for a furrever family that wants a big dog and would preferably have a fenced in yard that I could run in. Would that be with you?

Earl resides at a rescue organization in Arkansas. Please contact Gail Ross at 870-431-8229, or via email at gailspets@hotmail.com to discuss this dog. You can find our adoption application by going to www.Gailspets.org and clicking on the Adoption Application tab. The application, when completed and submitted, will be electronically sent to Gail’s email address.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Earl, a Oakland Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
