My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Once upon a time there was a little half MinPin-half Iggy girl born into a breeding program. Her owners thought she looked more like a MinPin than an Iggy as a newborn, so off went her ears and tail at 6 days of age. Little did they know, she would grow into a lovely, long legged, and elegant sable colored princess that looks much more like an Iggy. This precious girl was bred with a male Iggy when she was barely a year old and she entered Rescue scared and nervous with 4 teeny newborn puppies at her side. Monet did not really understand what it was to be a mother, but she did a great job with the help of her foster family. She began to learn trust a little at a time but her main focus was on raising her babies. As her boys grew and became old enough to leave the nest-it was her time to shine! So she transferred to a new foster home with other confident adult IGs to help show her the ropes!

When she initially entered her new foster home, it was very difficult for her to trust the new environment. Monet would zoom away when approached by a human. After a couple of weeks, Monet quickly learned to trust by observing her furry foster sisters cuddling with their humans. Monet now approaches her humans with head buds and many kisses. She is fully potty trained and crate trained. She thrives on structure and enjoys her long walks. Monet is very agile and friendly with other dogs, which she shows at the dog park. She does still get nervous with people she does not know, so we take her on outings where she can meet other dog friendly humans such as going to the dog park. These experiences are helping Monet to accept her surroundings as well as reassure her she is safe and deserving of love.

Monet will do best in an all female home, with another confident and friendly dog, and no young children. She will also require a secure and fully fenced back yard as she is quite the jumper-no apartment approvals at this time. Monet is fully vetted and ready to find her furever home and will make someone very very happy with her loving and witty personality!
