My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2/28/16 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $250
Fostered in Texas
Age: 8 years
Weight: 6 lbs.

1/6/16 - Hi there! My name is Nikki. I bet you haven’t ever given much thought to the fact that DOG is GOD spelled backwards. A little ironic? Perhaps not. Do you know of a more forgiving friend? One who is able to look beyond daily insults and still demonstrate unconditional love? We, who many may consider a lowly creature, manage to take on our human's emotional/physical overload with infinite grace. We don’t judge or criticize. It is really quite simple. We love you and you are our best friend.

My best friend and human mom passed away recently and luckily someone reached out to Yorkie Haven Rescue and a very sweet foster family took me in. I still miss my human mom, but I hear that YHR is going to find me a new mom and/or dad that will love me and cherish me and give me constant attention.

From what I understand, I am an awesome little girl. I get along with other dogs and cats my size, but do not interact with them at all. I will just ignore them and simply co-exist. I like sleeping in the human bed with my person and actually like being with my person all the time. I’m what they call a velcro dog. Since my previous owner was a woman, I do tend to warm up to women quicker than men, but don’t worry, if there is a daddy in my future, I will love you just as much if you are sweet and delicate with me.

I’m not really interested in toys that much, but will grab one and throw it up in the air whenever my humans come home to let them know just how happy I am that they are back. I do well in the potty training department, but don’t let the word “well” be confused with “no accidents”. If brought out enough, the accuracy percentage rate goes up, but there are those times when I just can’t hold it or just get a teeny lazy. I am not a huge barker, but when I do, it isn’t very loud and is actually very cute.

I get timid where there are loud noises. I react by ducking my head, tucking my tail and hunkering down. To that end, I need a calm home with no children, young or older and hopefully someone retired to give me just that 99% of love and affection I so deserve. Foster mom has actually heard me howl at the door sometimes when she first leaves and no one else is home. It doesn’t last long, and I do not have separation anxiety, just afraid that my new people won’t every come back like my previous mom.

I will sun outside, but only if you are with me. Nothing is more important than being around my person, so where you go, I go. On the sofa, the bed, the bathroom.... I think you get my drift.

Anyway, if you castle is lonely and you need a furbaby to kiss, pet, love, and spoil, I the girl for you and you will not be disappointed.
