Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brandy is a long-haired Chihuahua/Papillion mix. Brandy was born 7/11/03 and used for breeding until her owner fell sick and she came in to our rescue in February 2015. Brandy was never held, walked or received any affection, so when she came to us she was very scared and often nippy. She has been in her foster home for over a year and while she follows her foster mom everywhere, wags her tail, allows pets under the chin and takes treats nicely she still will run if you attempt to hold her or pet her anywhere except under her chin. At the age of 12 years old she has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and is now on medicine for her heart. She appears to have lost most of her hearing so she relies on the other dogs and vibrations. She is not fond of female dogs, however her BFF in her foster home is a female. She does well with male dogs. Brandy is considered a flight risk because she will run and hide if she feels threatened so a fence is a requirement. Brandy will fear bite if threatened So NO kids. All of the above make a potential adoption seem impossible however Brandy deserves a home where she can just be herself, receive food, shelter, her medicines and constant reassurance that she is loved. She needs someone that accepts a dog that refuses affection and is ok with that. Her foster Mom says she goes out potty except during rain and she's quiet. Although Brandy does not allow her foster Mom to show her affection her Mom says "I can tell she loves me by the way she's always within my visual field and always wags her tail when our eyes meet."
Brandy is current on vaccines, spay/neutered and heartworm tested. Adoption fee for Brandy is $100. If you are interested in adopting Brandy, please fill out an adoption application http://www.furgetusnotrescue.org/looking-for-a-dog-application.html .
