Noel's Story...
Noel is a very sweet playful kitten that would love to be adopted into her new home with her brother Kris--they play and hang out together. Both can only be pre-adopted as they need to get a little bigger in order to be fixed. They will be ready for their new homes at the end of the month and will be fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, and micro chipped. Both get along with other cats/kittens as well as dogs. CAFA's policy is that kittens under 5 mos old need to be adopted with another kitten or into homes that already have a cat or kitten. There is an adoption fee. If you'd like to meet these cuties, email cafaoregon.org or call/text 503-586-6176.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Noel, a Salem Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Salem, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
