Roger's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Roger's Story...
Roger is a male and we believe he is a Newfoundland – border collie mix. The vet estimated his age to be 8 years.  He is neutered and current on all vaccinations, as well has having a current dental cleaning. Roger’s health is good and he is strong.
Roger spent his life chained-up in the yard.  Surprisingly In spite of being chained up he is not aggressive and is a very gentle dog.  He gets along well with other dogs and cats and children too.  Roger is now an inside dog and is fully house-trained.  Since he is a long haired dog he does need routine brushing.
Roger is a gentle loving giant who is easy to love,
If you would like to give this big fella a forever home, contact Floyd County Humane Society at 540-745-7207 or e-mail

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roger, a Floyd Newfoundland/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland/Border Collie for sale in Floyd, or seeking a Newfoundland/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Floyd.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Floyd already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Floyd breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland/Border Collie breeders who help with Newfoundland/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Floyd paves the way for another one to be saved.
