Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Walk down the street with Turner and he will definitely turn some heads he's so handsome. He's a one year old Retriever mix that was recently adopted and returned because he didn't like the cat in the family and played too rough with the kids. It's probably best if kids in the family were over 6 years of age. His owner said that Turner was a quick learner and an overall great dog, but he wouldn't leave the cat alone. Maybe it will be your family's turn to adopt Turner when he returns from his training.
On January 10, 2016, Turner was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. He will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison which puts his return date probably sometime in March or early April. Prison Dogs cannot be visited during their training. All dogs return on an individual basis.
If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. You can find an app at friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. Hand deliver the adoption application to Friendship or call if you live a distance away to see if you can fax one in. Please DO NOT email the app.
If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321. Or email at adoptions@friendshipapl.org.
All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
