Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jack is a 1-2 year old shepherd mix, with lab and maybe some hound. Please read his story here:
Hi, my name is Jack and I’m looking for my Forever Home. I was found as a stray.
My foster parents tell me that I’m unbelievably sweet, precious and loving. I love to cuddle, play with other dogs, and have played well with 3 kids, between the ages of 6-9. I also love visiting with my 85 y.o. Grandma. I love going to the Bark Park to run around and play with all of the dogs there. I also love beach walks, but will walk anywhere with you. I am a good walker with my Wonder Walker Body Halter. I’m getting better with car rides. I was really anxious at first, but learning quickly that it’s safe to be in the back seat of the car. I usually end up some where so fun. I suffer a bit from separation anxiety, but my foster family is training me to stay in a kennel while they are out. I get to start going to doggy daycare some next week. Yipee!
I have a lot of energy, since I’m only around 1½ years old. I’d do best with an active family. A younger dog family member and kids over 5 years old would be perfect too. (I’ve never played with younger kids.) I’m afraid I might knock down a smaller child, if I get carried away playing. Not sure about cats. I’ve never had the opportunity in my foster home.
I know basic commands such as sit, down, off, leave-it, drop the ball, easy, come, no and off. (I love counter surfing, but get down right away if corrected.) I’m basically house trained. I have had two accidents peeing in the past few weeks. I think I need reminding to “go out and go potty” still, as I’m still a bit preoccupied about being lost and in a new home.
I would make a great family dog. I need someone to be committed to finish my training, be patient and to keep me active. Once I’m exercised, I love to hang out and sleep by my family.
(An adoption donation of $250 is required.) If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email CHEW Dog Rescue at pawsontherun@gmail.com and ask for the adoption application form.
If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.
