Katie's Story...
Little Katie is a young sprite of a thing! This sweet, wispy, energetic young girl is all kisses and hugs and leaps and bounds. She just loves getting attention from a doting human, just as much as she loves running through the high grass in the glades of the nearby park with her volunteer companion. Katie has an overall friendly temperament with both humans and other canines, and characteristic of her youth, seems interested in playing with all the passing dogs in the park. Because of her age, she will need training and good boundary-setting from her new person or family; but perhaps most importantly, Katie will need a regular diet of hugs and kisses in order to thrive in her new environment!

Act quickly to adopt Katie. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie, a Berkeley Whippet/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Whippet/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Whippet/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Whippet/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Whippet/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
