My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ellie is approximately 8 to 9 years old and weighs about 8 or 9 lbs.

Ellie came to us from a Georgia public shelter where she was very skinny, scared and shaking. She has done a complete turn around! All she needed was love and some good food and she was back to her self.

Ellie is very calm and loves to be with her person wherever that may take her. Ellie LOVES LOVES LOVES to ride in the car and go with you. She will tolerate being left at home without any argument, but she would much rather go.

Ellie is calm and cool with strangers too. She Is not hyper when meeting new people, she just enjoys being with people. She has done well with all people, but has not been around very small children. Her personality does not concern us when considering her for a home with children. However since she is a smaller dog, she will only be considered for dog savvy children.

Ellie becomes very attached to her humans that care the best for her so plan to have a constant companion!

Ellie is fostered in Chattanooga, but a meet and greet in Atlanta can be arranged by appointment.

Please email for an adoption application (Microsoft Word format).

Prior to adoptions, all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age appropriate), heartworm tested, microchipped and are kept up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.

Adoption fees are $300 for dogs up to 8 years of age and $200 for 8+ years.

SOMAD is a private, all volunteer, foster-home based rescue group. Please be patient as we answer your inquiries; we do our best to answer emails within a day, however volume and regular life schedules sometimes delay us.
