My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JAKE is a 5 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 82 pounds. Jake and his brother Rambler are a handsome pair of gentlemen that are bonded and need to be adopted together. Jake and his brother were surrendered to the shelter because they chased some chickens that got into their yard, so no chickens! They have always been together since they were young pups and have never been apart. They are very friendly and have nice personalities. They're used to having a fenced-in yard to run around. Good with other dogs. Good with other dogs. He is approved for kids 10+.

Update: Watch Jake and Rambler at yesterday's AALD here: https://youtu.be/FuOU7AX5JX

Update:: Foster Friday! Hello again. Jake and Rambler checking in to let all you lucky folks out there know that we're available for adoption and we'll be in Fairfax VA tomorrow if you'd like to meet us in person. We don't want to brag but have to say that we are wonderful, as well as handsome. We love everyone we meet. We're good with other dogs, house trained, great snuggly bed mates, obey our basic commands...

Update:: Double the fun! Rambler and Jake. These two always have to be in eye shot of each other. They love other dogs and love their humans. They're smart, gentle souls. They love being outside in this beautiful weather and the baby pools but will hang inside with their humans and pack too. They sit patiently for treats and food. They love long walks but do best on no-pull harnesses because they are strong. They also enjoy adventures and will rush to explore. These two boys will make a wonderful addition to your home.

Update:: Jake and Rambler are doing great! They fell right back into the scheme of things in their foster home. Jake is very affectionate. He head butts his foster mom for scratching and attention. Rambler is a cuddler, always on the love seat with his foster mom. The boys love their walks, and are such great dogs. They have the perfect lab temperament.

Update : Rambler and Jake are settling in to their foster home and are very friendly and sweet. Jake is the leader, and Rambler is happy to follow. They cuddle up together and it's clear they love each other. Rambler knows sit, and Jake doesn't yet, but both are polite for treats and mealtimes. They're Labs and love food but do not scarf it right down like most Labs. They both absolutely love people. The boys are in a foster home with several other dogs and get along well with all of them, and have spent time at doggie day care too. Rambler especially enjoys playing with pups of all shapes and sizes.
