My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This darling baby still needs vet work completed, so it can possibly be a few weeks yet prior to when she is ready for adoption.

Starla is a typical hyper puppy, while she plays well with the younger dogs, she would not do well with an old(er) dog. She has too much energy and would drive an old(er) dog nuts. She loves to play tugga with her toys, has selective hearing (will not come when called unless SHE wants to come), needs a secure fenced area due to that fact, because she will run thinking she is playing a game. She 'talks' when picked up when she doesn't want to be, she thinks the world is her oyster! We are mere 'servants' to bring her food or toys or whatever her little heart desires. :)

She is crate trained when left in the crate for short periods, but needs work on her potty training yet.

The adopters must be willing to work with her on being brushed, as she is terrified of the hairbrush, especially near her face. While we are working with her on this issue, It will take continued time and patience to work with her on this. We do not know what caused this fear, but it needs to be dealt with gently & with patience.

Starla is 4 months old, this is our website: http://www.shihtzurescue.us the link for the application is: http://www.usshihtzurescue.com/adoptmailmidwest.html we do require it to be filled out as we check vet & groomer references. we also have someone we know in rescue do home visits on potential homes after the application is in & references checked. we do not ship nor transport our dogs, if potentially approved, the adopter must come to the foster home to meet the dog & for final approval for adoption.

She will be spayed (we are waiting for her to make weight), microchipped, see what shots she needs, Her adoption fee is $350

right now we are just accepting applications, we will make a decision to her potential home once she is ready for adoption.
