Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ernie was brought to a shelter south of Houston with his buddy Bert as a stray. He had two cherry eyes and lacked Bert’s confidence. 4 y/o Ernie is a very skinny 25 pounds. It looks like Bert got the lion’s share of food and love wherever these two boys came from.
Ernie does love to play. He will chase after thrown toys and race around the yard with other members of his foster pack. Ernie learned to use the dog door the first day and has been house broken since day one. He loves going into the kennel at meal times. It is probably the first time he has been able to eat his meals without pack members horning in on his dish! He sleeps at night on a dog bed except for nights when the thunder roars.
He is very sensitive to load noises and sudden movement. He has very little confidence around people. He is slow to trust new people but is very loving once he accepts you. Ernie loves to jump up and sit next to you. Cuddle time is his favorite time of the day.
Ernie is going to need someone who has the love and patience to teach him that people can be kind to skinny hound dogs and the world is a good place to be.
