Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nutmeg is a super sweet girl who is a bit shy but has a big personality. She is very talkative though when she hears the sound of a fridge door or a veggie bag rustle. She would do well with kids and long as she is supervised closely while being handled. Mama Nutmeg will need a home where her new "fur"ever family is patient and slowly works with her to gain her trust. She has had two separate litters of piggies, the most recent set being born on New Years day, and will need to go to a home where she is only housed with other females or kept as a single lady as having more litters of piggies could be extremely dangerous for her health due to her age. She is now around 1 1/2yrs of age. Her adoption fee is $35.
RCHS guinea pigs live in loving foster homes where they are socialized, given sufficient exercise outside of their cage, and fed a diet of grass hay, Timothy pellets, and fresh vegetables daily to maintain a healthy weight. Guinea pigs do require a vet trained in exotic animal medicine and have special housing and dietary needs. We encourage you to please research guinea pigs thoroughly before adopting.
