Limo's Story...

Limo is a sweet 7 year old Miniature Dachshund who was saved from the pound. She is a shy girl, but warms up quickly. She loves going for walks, but also loves to cuddle. She is very well behaved in the house, is not destructive, and is housetrained. She prefers to sleep in bed with her human, but will stay peacefully in her crate as well. She is a good watchdog and will bark when visitors come to the door, but will quiet down when asked. We have not been able to test Limo with cats, but she does get along well with other dogs, big and small, after a little adjustment time. She currently lives with a Pitbull and a Chihuahua. We think Limo would really like to have a doggie friend of similar stature to chase around the house and yard. Limo will need a secure yard as she is a bit of an escape artist, and will require an adult only home as children make her nervous.

As of August 2, Limo will be spayed, vaccinated, flea-treated, dewormed, and microchipped. She is also having a dental done. Her adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in adopting Limo, please submit an adoption application at

If you would like to donate toward Limo's care, or towards any other animal in need, please feel free to donate with PayPal, Interac Online or credit card through All donations receive a tax receipt.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Limo, a Edmonton Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Edmonton, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Edmonton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edmonton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edmonton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edmonton paves the way for another one to be saved.
