Hi there, my name is Penny. Nice to meet you! I’m a 3-4 year old poodle who was found with my other friends that have names from a popular TV show about brainy friends. : ) Unlike the character on the show, I’m a bit more shy – but JUST as flirty, if not more. I do want affection, love and belly rubs, but I’ve never been shown what that is like. I came into rescue covered in fleas, itchy skin, a bare spots where fur should be. My friends at NBS Animal Rescue have been showing me what is is like to be fed regularly, see vets that care about my well being, help me with potty training and leash walking, and they work hard to show me what it is like to loved unconditionally. They said there might even be a family out there willing to love me forever, and adopt me! Are you willing to teach me what love is all about?
P.S. I will need a home without children under the age of 8, as sudden movements scare me. My new family will also have to have a potty plan in place to make sure I get let outside every 4-5 hours or so during day time. I'm not comfortable on a leash yet so I would prefer a home that either has a fenced yard or a family that can take their time to help me be comfortable going outside to potty on a leash.
Here are the helpful steps in applying!
1.) Visit www.NBSAnimalRescue.com happy to adopt me. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you, and whatever other pets you have in the home to make sure we all get along. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to do the next steps too. : )
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release info about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your vet). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
