IVAN's Story...
Meet Ivan. Ivan is a 3 year old BC/ Aussie mix. He is a stunning red and white male with a semi rough coat. Ivan was surrendered to a shelter because his owner was moving and couldn’t take him with him. Ivan will require a very dog savvy person, as Ivan is cautious when he meets strangers. Ivan is being fostered in the High Desert and is currently in a foster situation with a K9 trainer. Ivan will growl when his ears, teeth, and feet, are checked, however, these behaviors are currently being addressed to desensitize him to them. Ivan is fine with most dogs, however, her prefers the companionship of other female dogs. Ivan is crated trained, has basic obedience manners, and is housebroken. Because of Ivan’s temperament, he should not be placed in a home with a lot of stimulus of people going in and out the household, or with children. Ivan will require a quieter household so that he can learn to be confident around people. All in all, Ivan is a nice dog and needs a person who is patient and willing to work with him.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please go on line and fill out an adoption application. We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled. The electronic application can be found on our website at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

IVAN, a San Pedro Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Border Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
