Facts about Handsome

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Handsome has been in our foster care since January 10, 2016 when he was found roaming the streets in the frigid cold and rain. A local police officer was following him, he told one of our volunteers he was going to take him to the pound. Our volunteer intervened and told the officer we would care for him until an owner could be located. We searched everywhere for an owner but had no luck.
Handsome is between 3-5 years old and is a red nose Pitty. He is a well behaved boy, and someone at some point took time with him as he is house trained and knows basic commands. He is also great on a leash, in the car, and at the vets.
He has recently healed from his neuter, has been vaccinated, and is heart worm negative.
We have been working on integrating him into our foster home with other animals but it has not gone in Handsome's favor. The oldest dog in the foster home is not taking well to him and we believe it is sensory overload for Handsome between all the cats and 4 other dogs in the home.
He has been staying in a spare bedroom of the home and this is only temporary until a forever home can be found.
Handsome is going to be best suited as the king of his castle, preferably in an active home where someone has the time to spend with him, take him for long walks, and provide a comfy place to rest his head at night.
Please inquire with Chris at crawfordc.0114@yahoo.com to learn how you can meet Handsome!

About Erie Shores Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Erie Shores HS is an all volunteer, non-profit 501c3 certified rescue dedicated to the rescue, restore, and rehome process of the abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in and around Lorain County, Ohio.

Our rescue is not shelter based. Instead, we rely on the dedicated foster homes and families who volunteer with our rescue to provide all needed aspects to our rescues, from care, to socialization, promotion, and placing into loving forever homes. In our experience over the last 30 years, the foster based method we use has proved to be effective in placing our rescues in the most suitable, loving homes based on their temporary stay in our foster homes. We truly could not function without the dedication and support of the people who make up our foster homes, and their commitment to the rescued animals.

We promote general and public education regarding care of animals and spay/neutering.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer with ES, would like to learn more about our foster based program, or are interested in adopting one of our rescued animals, please inquire with fureverhome@erieshoreshumanesociety.com
