After approximately 7 years chained up, sweet King has been rescued and is looking for his new home! His friend, Bear was recently adopted but King is still at ARF. We are hopeful to find a fantastic home for this fun-loving fellow! King is absolutely yearning for a family of his own!
King is a sweet dog that craves attention.... the attention he so richly deserves after living on a chain for so long. Despite a rough start, and thanks to the Monroe Street Animal Clinic, King quickly learned to walk on a leash with his new human friends. More than anything else, he loves to run and romp in the play yard, free from that burdensome chain. His only abiding fear is that of flying bugs -- the poor thing is terrified of them after roughing it for so many years. King is neutered, up to date on shots, and has a clean bill of health. It is not always a sure thing that chained dogs will reciprocate the love of their rescuers, but King has paid us back in spades! He adores any attention that he receives, happily leaping into your arms for the extra scratch. He'd make a great fit in many homes, ideally with someone who will take advantage of his healthy energy level, but we have no doubt that this survivor will bond quickly with any family that takes him in.
