Katie UPDATE's Story...
UPDATE 03-08-16 Katie went to the Vet to be spayed and have her cherry eye removed. She had already been spayed, however her eye is now clear. Katie was always pretty, but now she's beautiful. New pictures to follow, so stay tuned.

AVAILABLE 01-18-16 Katie was brought to the Shelter by a kind lady who found her roaming around a subdivision in Pasquotank County. She seems to be mostly Lab with maybe a little Spaniel mixed in. She weighs only 51 lbs. but seems to be full grown - a great size - not too big and not too little. Katie is a sweet friendly girl who walks well on leash. She might be housetrained as she is ready to go "potty" when she gets out of her kennel. Katie might have had a family at one time who taught her what "sit" means. Her shots have been brought up to date and her heart worm test was negative. Katie does have a "cherry eye" which can easily be removed. Please come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City to meet Katie - she has a lot of love to give and sure would appreciate being loved in return.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katie UPDATE, a Elizabeth City Labrador Retriever/Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Spaniel (Unknown Type) for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Spaniel (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Spaniel (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Spaniel (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
