Trixie's Story...
Hi, I'm Trixie!

My estimated birthday is Apr 08 and my estimated adult weight is about 50 lbs, but since I'm so young, it's hard to tell if I'll really get that big at this point ... I'll probably be a medium sized dog when fully grown ~

I was found wandering the parking lot of a club in downtown San Antonio, and a lovely lady picked me up and got me safely to rescue.  Unfortunately, I had a broken leg, but it's been fixed and I don't even have to wear a cast anymore!  I will need to be careful with it for a little while longer, though, so my foster mom thought it best I be listed as special needs until I'm completely healed.

I am the cutest little girl -- check out those ears! -- but we really don't know what my heritage is.  What we do know is I'm SO lovable and curious and fun to have around -- the perfect example of a puppy :) -- so please consider making me a permanent part of your family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Trixie, a San Antonio Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Hound (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
