Koda's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with kids.

Koda's Story...
Koda is a dark brindle purebred but unpapered Nea female, approx 3 yrs old, available through local rescue.

No pics available at this time.

She is fully vetted (spayed, microchipped, shots up to date, heartworm neg and on preventive). She is an in house companion only, and her adoption fee is $300.

Koda was surrendered because her owners were deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. The only other detail we have on her prior history is that she apparently received regular veterinary care; we are trying to confirm this with the vet(s) involved as she came into rescue bone thin due to internal parasites and with an infected abscess on her side; she is currently recovering well. She seems to be fine with larger MALE dogs but is NOT good with small dogs so cats are probably out as well.  She was great in a foster home with school age children. She is very sweet with people but can be dominant with other dogs and especially with other alpha females.  She had an eye condition which has been treated, but she will require periodic exams with a veterinary ophthalmologist.  She has still not gained as much weight as we'd like -- she needs another 20 lbs or so as she's barely 100 lbs now -- but she is otherwise healthy.

Please check out our general adoption policies at www.HoundHaven.Petfinder.Com and contact Hound.Haven@gmail.com for an application if interested ~

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Koda, a San Antonio Neapolitan Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Neapolitan Mastiff for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Neapolitan Mastiff dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Neapolitan Mastiff breeders who help with Neapolitan Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
