Facts about Lester

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
A loyal dog in a cat suit! Lester is an amazing cat. He was born feral and was part of a large colony that had to be trapped, but could not be released. Rehoming feral cats is a very difficult task and Lester was scheduled to be euthanized the day after we rescued him. He had spent two weeks in a small cat carrier hoping someone would come to adopt... but as we all know a feral cat is not very adoptable. We took Lester in and a miracle occurred. With just a week or so of love and patience His entire demeanor changed. He has since been brought inside and is no longer being kept in a crate. He is an incredible friend and a very affectionate and playful cat. There is no sign of his feral nature anymore. In fact we are completely in love with Lester. He is like a loyal dog in a cat suit! Whoever adopts him will see for themselves that he is truly one in a million. He might look like a regular tabby cat but his spirit is HUGE!
He likes to talk to me, and is highly communicative! He comes when he is called, and he adores affection. He likes to walk into my lap and then rest his arms on my chest... sort of just laying on me. I sometimes pick him up like a baby and wrap his arms around my neck, holding his bottom! He loves it all. He is also really really playful for an adult cat. He plays like a kitten. He has a couple plastic soccer balls that he plays with up and down the kitchen for hours sometimes. He had a dried up lime he found somewhere the other day, and had a grand old time using it for soccer! I love this cat and I know he will make someones life brand new! Just come meet him. you will see! He has been fixed and had shots. He is not microchipped. He has very good house manners and seems very naive about the street. He really loves the sunshine and likes rolling around on the warm driveway:)

About Quality of Life Rehab and Foster

About Our Rescue Group...

Quality of Life Rehab and foster is a grass roots effort to increase the quality of life for all animals. We are especially concerned for those susceptible to entering our shelter systems and those abandoned or injured by run-ins with man. We believe it is very important to remember that an animal's quality of life must be put before it's quantity of life.

We also try to indirectly improve the quality of animals' lives by providing community outreach through education, foster, resourcing, and hands on rescue. Our rescue effort is run from our humble home. We are often unable to accept new animals simply because we are at capacity. However, that doesn't mean we won't help you find a home for your rescued animal or pet. We are happy to assist anyone willing to foster their own animal with adoption coordination and pet publicity.

We will pick up injured or orphaned wildlife and care for it until it can be taken to licensed wildlife rehabilitators, Animis Foundation, Ocala, FL.. We gladly perform snake (and reptile) removal, we LOVE reptiles and theyare NEVER harmed. Any indigenous animals we remove are relocated to an area that suits them.

We will also help with the TNR (sterilization) of feral cat populations in limited capacity . This is made possible by of Sheltering Hands, Ocala, FL..

Come Meet Our Pets...

The few foster animals we have at our home are readily available for meet and greets to meet your schedule! Some of our available pets may be fostered in their rescuer/owner's home. These people are the magic behind what we do. They have agreed not to take their animal to the shelter, and wait for someone to find the animal on this adoption site!

We are not a shelter. We are a home-based rescue and outreach. We foster a small number of various species at our home. We do our best not to take on so many as to affect the quality of life of those we care for (or our permanent residents/pets).

We happily offer to create adoption profiles for fostered pets, and ask any one who has a pet in need of placement give us time to find them suitable housing. We cannot help your pet if you have waited until the final hour to find it a home. We need time (where you "foster" your own pet) to search for a suitable forever home.

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in adopting one of our fur-babies, just drop us an email or give us a call.
We can set up a meet and greet for you and see how it goes.
Typically, our adoption fees are as follows:
Cats: $50
Dogs: $75

***Adoption fees can vary on a case by case basis. Most commonly, special needs animals or purebred animals carry higher adoption fees. This is done in an effort to discourage those that may be "adopting on impulse".
