The name SUKI means “TO LOVE”

A Rescue Train counselor was at the shelter when Suki’s owner surrendered her after many years of neglect. Suki was scared and confused. She refused to go in her kennel and stood in the pouring rain yearning for her owner to come back. They never did, and instead Suki was swooped up into the arms of an animal angel and now is safely on The Rescue Train. And we have learned very quickly that there’s LOTS TO LOVE about Suki!

First stop for Suki was our vet’s office. We found out that Suki is about 10 years old and has Cushing’s disease (a treatable condition with just two pills a day). Whoever adopts Suki or fosters her FURever will have all her vet bills and medication paid for LIFE! We call it PETicare. Since Suki has started her medication she’s feeling and looking great! She needs to lose a little weight though and is on a diet. She gets so excited when her foster comes home they call it her “chubby dance.” With all her dancing and tail wagging we expect her extra pounds to come off fast!
.
This feisty gal likes to go on walks and play with adult dogs in her foster home. She gets along with all dogs but calm mature dogs her size would be the best match. Suki likes to chase cats (or squirrels as she secretly thinks they might be). Suki’s hobbies include napping and getting her chin scratched. She loves her dog bed and the groomer did not have any issues with her. She seems very happy to wear her little hair clip and she will model dog clothes without protest for you.

Senior dogs are so grateful and such easy companions. If you can give sweet Suki a second chance at a happy ending please fill out an application at www.TheRescueTrain.org
