Facts about JACOB

  • Breed: Blue Heeler/Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
JACOB is sweet as pie and smart as a whip too! On top of being smart and sweet, he is very handsome! JACOB is such a loving, people pleaser. He is happiest curled up on the couch, hanging with his people. He likes to play but is not hyper and likes to lope around the yard more than run. JACOB is around a year old. He is not a fan of the kennel but does very well hanging out in the house. He is housetrained and crate trained. He plays with his toys but does not usually bother other stuff around the house. He has been sleeping happily on the couch at his foster home at night and when it is time to go to sleep he gets up on his couch, gathers his favorite toys and snuggles down for his night. This goofy boy is longing for a family to call his own and can’t wait to be able to go on walks or play or just hang out with his family. JACOB is a wonderful pup that is excited to find his forever family!

Once adopted JACOB will travel to his new forever home via transport. For an adoption application on JACOB please email His adoption fee of 460.00 includes his transport, two rounds of vaccinations, microchip and neuter.

All of our pets start their journey in Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted at which time they travel via transport to their new forever home. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England adoptions ( and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Blues City is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

About BLUES CITY ANIMAL RESCUE - Chicago Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a rescue based out of Memphis, Tennessee with fosters and chapters in various parts of the United States. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home as many homeless pets in the mid-south as we possibly can to save them from euthanasia. Their only fault...there are just too many. The euthanasia rate in this city is a staggering 79%. We watch perfectly healthy, well-adjusted pets be euthanized daily because there simply are not enough homes for them all. The solution...stronger spay/neuter laws and education but until then, these pets deserve a future too!

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process starts right here – you finding yourself your new best friend and family member. Once you have found one of these beautiful souls we ask that you complete an adoption application.

Once the application has been approved, the selection process begins. As with any adoption, we want to ensure our dogs are going into the best fit home – not only for them, but for you as well. Pet adoption is a big commitment and we want to make sure these dogs don’t endure anymore hardships than they already have.

The final step in the adoption process is the spay/neuter contract (assuming the puppy is too young or unable to be spayed or neutered at the time of adoption).

Once the adoption process has been finalized and we have received payment, we will make reservations for transport to your area. The transport is NO ADDITIONAL COST to the adopters. **Please note: Most of our dogs are fostered in Memphis, TN - our transport runs every other week to the Midwest.**
