Here's what the humans have to say about me:
To MEET Meeko - fill out an application. Cut and paste this link into your web browser: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/
Apply to FOSTER: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/how-you-can-help/foster/
Foster parents have the first option to adopt. We will provide all you need to foster.
Weight: 7 lbs.
Age: 4 months
Personality: Outgoing, friendly, playful, loves to sit on your lap and snuggle, very sweet
Coat: Corgi type texture of coat. Very shiny! Will need occasional bathing and regular brushing.
Training: Comes nicely when called. Walks on a leash well. Travels well in the car, but is a little afraid and won't jump into the car on his own. This will improve with reward based training, age and continued exposure. Meeko will need both a puppy Kindergarten and Basic Manners class, with a reward based positive trainer.
Health: Excellent. Fully checked by our veterinarian. Vaccinations complete.
History: Meeko and his sister CoCo were abandoned in Korea, outside in a cardboard box on Christmas Day, in freezing temperatures. They were rescued in Korea by a dog rescue we work with over there. Mixed breed puppies have a hard time getting adopted in Korea, so they were sent to America to find their forever families.
Fostered in: Fullerton, CA (local applicants only)
Type of home: Famly or single person, as long as they have the time, energy and finances to properly train and care for a puppy for his entire natural lifespan.
Crate trained: Yes
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Kids: Yes
Good with Cats: Yes trainable
Adoption fee (non-refundable): $300
All dogs are fully vetted, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.
Our adoption process looks like this:
1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized
Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
