My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Why do birds suddenly appear Every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be Close to you Why do stars fall off from the sky Every time you walk by? Just like me, they long to be Close to you.- from 'Close To You' by The Carpenters
And we can't think of a sweeter pup to get close to as our Pipa! Pipa is a seven month old black Labrador Retriever mix who currently weighs 35 lbs. We don't see her getting over 50 lbs (if that) when full grown. Pipa is indeed a 'close to you' kind of little girl. She has no qualms about making herself comfortable with her people.... on their lap...on her back....like a baby? That's our story and we are sticking to it! Yes she relishes in being near her humans getting lots of love and belly rubs so if you are one of those serious void of humor and emotion kind of people...move on and get a fish or a turtle or something. This girl loves to be loved and gives it in return ten fold. Pipa has done great with her house training. Foster mom says she does get the 'I'm happy to see you and gosh I missed you' initial excitement dribbles sometimes when they get home from work but otherwise no accidents. She is a bit hesitant going into her crate but once in there is no fussing or complaining on her part, she is well behaved. Pipa is currently in process of learning some basic commands such as sit. She is eager to please between hugs and kisses so continued training will only make her an even better pup. She is great on leash and very much enjoys spending quality walking time with her loved ones. Pipa is just as sweet and loving with kids, other dogs and cats. Sure she likes to run around and have fun like most little girls but her true love is being with her people. Foster mom says when she is allowed to sleep on the bed her choice spot is head on pillow right between mom and dad (sounds like a lot of two legged youngsters we know). So maybe that might not be the perfect place but hey, she's young and impressionable and could always learn how comfy the foot of the bed is! Pipa is already spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, and current on preventatives. She has learned what it's like to live in a real house with real people who really love her and now it's time to make the transition to a permanent forever loving home. We don't know if birds will suddenly appear or stars will just starting falling from the sky (gee we hope not!) but we do know it is definitely time for Pipa to be 'Close To You' (forever and ever and....ever!).
