Picked up as a stray this sweet senior was facing euthanasia when Friends For Life said, “We’ll take her!” It was a no-brainer, as Gretchen has many wonderful qualities, including:

A laidback personality—She remains calm around other dogs and humans, relaxing in her bed instead of joining pups or kids at play.

Room to grow—Gretchen doesn’t know any commands, but that only means you’ll be able to bond with her through training. Doxies have a keen sense of smell, so stinky treats should do the trick.

Good manners—Gretchen doesn’t chew what she shouldn’t and settles in her crate after just a few barks goodnight. She does well with cats – if they run, she might give chase but seems more interested in playing.
