Romeo & Juliet's Story...
These beautiful seniors with the sweet faces are Romeo & Juliet! They're 9 year old Pit Bull Mixes who are silly, playful and active, proving that age is just a number! They're neutered & spayed, current on their vaccinations and microchipped. They get along well with other dogs although the bond they share can cause them to be protective of each other, so if their Forever Family has a dog, it must have the right temperament. The Seniors recently met children and loved them, showering them with kisses! They also spent a day with a dog-loving cat and did great! Juliet groomed the cat and Romeo was curious but friendly. Due to their strength, especially when combined, we'd usually request a home without kids but since these sweet seniors love them so much, we'll consider a home with children, depending on their maturity and interaction with the duo.

Romeo & Juliet were an unexpected rescue but once we saw them on Facebook and found out they were being euthanized at 6pm the following day, we acted fast! We believe these two were littermates and have been strays until they ended up at Animal Control. They have a very close bond - they're buddies who are dependent on each other, they're partners in crime, sidekicks and best friends! Because of this, we will not split them up and they have to be fostered together & adopted together - no exceptions.

Romeo & Juliet are very friendly and love meeting people, stopping to say hello and making new friends! It's hard to get great photos of them because they can't contain their excitement when it comes to people! Cuddling is a favorite activity of theirs, with humans and each other - it doesn't matter as long as they're together. They both have their own unique personalities and look out for each other. Romeo is a very handsome fawn colored, happy-go-lucky guy who wags his tail constantly and flashes his big, beautiful smile at everyone he sees. He has a zest for life and finds joy in the simplest things, like laying his head on the dashboard while on a car ride, watching the world pass by. He had to have stitches removed recently and behaved so well the Vet remarked what a good boy he is! His main goal in life is getting human attention and he's thrilled when he gets it! Romeo loves nuzzling his head between his temporary Foster Mom's neck & shoulder and he purrs & sighs, which just melts her heart! He enjoys snuggling as close as he can get, and will lay on top of his person, if allowed, and likes laying his head on laps. This sweet love bug has a way of sitting and waiting to make eye contact, and once you look into those gorgeous golden eyes, his tail starts wagging and you'd better be ready for some loving! Juliet, a black & white beauty, has the sweetest face with soft eyes that just ask for love! She's very affectionate and specializes in giving kisses, which are as sweet as she is! She has a sassy side, which is fun to see, and she has the cutest wiggle butt which will make you laugh when it gets shaking! She's grown very comfortable in her temporary Foster Home and her playful side has emerged, which we love! She enjoys making people laugh with her play bows and her silly way of barking to invite humans & dogs to play! This beautiful girl also enjoys giving nightly shows where she spins in circles then finishes with a break dance style finale - it's so funny to see and makes her even more endearing! Juliet is aware and respectful of Romeo's need for human affection, and once it's her turn for lovings she'll kiss you until you're laughing! Juliet's needs are aimed more towards Romeo, she's very attached to him, and she doesn't function well without him. They're both wonderful, affectionate dogs who will bring so much love & happiness to your life! What could be better than snuggling with these two sweeties after a long day at work?

When it comes to energy, it's hard to believe these lifelong companions are seniors as they're very playful & active! They spent time at doggie daycare and loved group playtime where Romeo liked to play fetch and Juliet refereed - they're entertaining, to say the least! They like playing with their temporary Foster Mom, one at a time, or both together, and enjoy having wrestling matches! Daily walks are a favorite activity, especially at the park, where they recently walked 5 miles! They walk nicely on a leash but it's easier to walk them separately due to their high energy and eagerness to meet people - unless you have someone with you to walk one of them. They love going for car rides and are good passengers! When it's time to relax, they like chewing on hooves then taking a nap.

Sadly, because of their age, this sweet pair rarely gets any interest, and they deserve to spend the rest of their lives in a home environment. We can guarantee they will keep you laughing with their silly antics and you'll be wondering if they're really seniors! They're goofy, fun to be around, enjoy life and they love being with people. If you'd like to Foster this beautiful duo or if Romeo & Juliet are the dogs you have been waiting for and you're ready to give them the joy of a Forever Home, please visit our website to learn about our Foster and Adoption Processes.
