Sam's Story...
Sam was signed over to us with a few other cats because the owner was moving and could no longer keep them. He can be a bit shy at first, but does warm up! He likes to be pet and loves to play with toys! He also likes to stretch his legs and explore his surroundings, or just be cozy in his blanket. Sam would love a forever home where he can get the loving and play time he needs!

For more information on Sam, call AWS at 860-354-1350 or visit us during adoption hours (Tuesday from 11 a.m until 7 p.m and Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) Adoption fee for cats is $100 and kittens are $125.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a New Milford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in New Milford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in New Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
