Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Valerie, a pretty and gentle long-haired black sweetie, arrived at the shelter in late January, already spayed, in good health, and very fond of human companionship, so no doubt she had a home in the not too distant past. She has adapted quite nicely to life in the adoptable cat room since moving in on January 29, especially so with her volunteer companions. Valerie is very fond of being held and loved, sitting on a lap, and being petted and brushed. She has a chirpy little voice, when she chooses to use it, and would make a lovely addition to most homes. She is still a little hesitant with the other cats, but is not afraid of them nor does she quarrel with them. She just makes sure she doesn't bother anyone. She will make a great companion to anyone who likes a lap cat who loves to be loved, she will probably be good with other cats and children, and though we have not yet tested her with large dogs, she should be okay in a home with a dog, as long as the dog is accustomed to living with cats and is not aggressive towards them. She also wanted us to let you know that she likes chicken.
Valerie is estimated to be 4 years old, is box-trained, spayed, current on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Adoption fee for adult cats is $50 (cash or check only, please). For more information on Valerie, or an adoption application, email ClayvilleCritters@cox.net, call the shelter at (401) 647-7200, or visit the shelter during regular hours: Tue, Wed, Fri 7 to 11 a.m., Thursday 6 to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
