FINLEY - ADOPTION PENDING's Story...
We’d like to introduce you to handsome Finley the Affenpinscher! He's a happy-go-lucky boy and quite a lover with his human family. He’s very striking with natural ears and tail. Finley is house trained, sleeps in the big bed well, loves kisses and cuddles, is a great watch dog and companion, and kennels like a champ when necessary. However, he would prefer not to be crated for more than 2-3 hours at a time and would love to sleep in bed with you at night. He’s young, playful, affectionate and enjoys stuffed and chew toys. Finley is good in the car and on the leash.

Finley - Finn for short – is a macho kind of guy and likes to strut his stuff. He loves to play with other dogs but sometimes has issues with the boys. It isn’t because he is a bad boy. Quite the opposite! He’s nearly perfect in every way. He is just an alpha male and gets along best with females and non-alpha male dogs. Finley would love a playful small dog playmate and requires a securely fenced yard, along with a person who works from home so he has few hours alone. Because of his small size, he will only be placed in a home with children over 14 years old. Since he is an alpha boy, he needs an adopter with previous pet experience.

Finley weighs about 14 pounds and his birthday is 11/25/2014. He is healthy, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, heart worm negative and taking preventative. He is currently being fostered in Jasper Indiana and we prefer to place him within driving distance of his foster home. Our dogs may never be shipped in cargo and we do not transport them to adoptive homes. They are never placed in homes with invisible (electric) fencing. Doggy doors are OK as long as they are secured at night and when you are gone. Finn is small enough to be carried away by a coyote or other predator so may never be left outside alone. Being a short nosed breed, Affenpinschers are sensitive to extreme heat and cold, so care must be taken when you are outside with him on very hot and very cold days. He must always be securely harnessed and leashed when outside a fenced area and crated or seat belted in the back seat when in a vehicle.

You may submit an adoption application for Finley at http://www.abgra.org/ Questions may be emailed to abgrauppermidwest@yahoo.com but please read his story first to see if he is a good match for your lifestyle.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

FINLEY - ADOPTION PENDING, a Seymour Affenpinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Affenpinscher for sale in Seymour, or seeking a Affenpinscher dog from a breeder in Seymour.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Seymour already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Seymour breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Affenpinscher breeders who help with Affenpinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Seymour paves the way for another one to be saved.
